The University of Economics, Prague consists of six faculties: The Faculty of Finance and Accounting, the Faculty of International Relations, the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Statistics and Informatics and the Faculty of Economics and Public Administration as well as the Faculty for Management. Besides the Faculty of Management, which is based in Jindřichův Hradec, all are located in Prague. The university offers a variety of study programs in the capital of the Czech Republic.
Studying in at the University of Economics in Prague means being part of a University with around 19.000 students and 630 academic staff. In the year 2010, the University of Economics in Prague has been declared to be the best business school in the East European Zone 2010 (see Press release VSE, 29.10.2010: http://www.vse.cz/media/TZ_Eduniversal2010_eng_EDITED.pdf). University projects are supported by many international known companies, such as Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernst & Young or Deloitte, which interact as the main partners.Students wealth is guaranteed by the local ESN student organization, which tries to introduce the newcomers in Prague’s culture and lifestyle. The academic year in Czech Republic starts a bit earlier than in Germany, mainly at September 1st, followed by a 13 weeks teaching period and last but not least an examination period of 6 weeks.
The nomination for an exchange programme at University of Economics in Prague is only possible via the application process in the Friedrich-Alexander University. Freemovers are not accepted.
